Request from ESFA to AELP members delivering traineeship provision

High quality traineeships programmes are a gateway to employment and apprenticeships for young people and critical to driving and supporting economic recovery. Your contribution to the success of the traineeship programme is key and the ESFA is asking AELP members to support in the delivery of the programme in two ways.

At the end of every month, the ESFA would like AELP members to complete a survey that will help develop and build intelligence on the programme trajectory of planned and actual starts.

The survey will run from March 2021 until July 2022 and the ESFA will review the content on a regular basis. Please complete the survey between the 1st and 12th day of each calendar month for the previous month. The months in the survey will be updated in advance of each data collection.

You can access the survey here.

The ESFA is also looking to refresh its traineeship provider listing on GOV.UK to include specific details on all of the providers who were successful in the recent procurement or any provider who delivers traineeships. The purpose of carrying out this piece of work is to update the list of training providers who deliver traineeships to make it easier for young people, employers and referral agencies etc. to find traineeship providers in their area.

The ESFA is therefore asking traineeship providers to share the following information by email to emily.ruddy@education.gov.uk by the end of March 2021.

  • Provider name
  • The region or regions in which traineeships are delivered
  • A list of the towns and/or cities where traineeships will be delivered
  • A website link
  • An email address
  • A contact number
