There are two programmes being rolled out under the National Skills Fund relating respectively to the Level 3 Adult Offer and Skills Bootcamps.
The deadline for bids for funding in the 2021/2022 financial year is on 12 February 2021. There may be a further opportunity later this year to bid for Skills Bootcamp funding in the 2022/2023 financial year, however no decision has been made at this time.
Skills Bootcamps will deliver a flexible training programme of courses up to 16 weeks, based on employer/sector ‘in-demand’ skills needs which may be either regulated (i.e. qualification based) or non-regulated (i.e. based on alignment with industry standards) and will offer a guaranteed job interview to individual participants on completion of the course.
The Skills Bootcamps will address the needs of adults (19+), and provide citizens with wider access to opportunities to retrain, update or formalise their skills or acquire specialist skills, as well as the needs of employers to deliver targeted interventions to meet short-medium term demand to fill vacancies and drive productivity.
This training will enable individuals to retrain, update or formalise skills or to acquire specialist skills at levels 3-5 or equivalent and last up to 16 weeks, we are not looking for entry level skills. Employers who are training existing employees, will contribute cash co-funding and we are aiming for in-kind contributions from employers recruiting new employees.
There are no predefined minimum or maximum numbers of learners required and bids can be for digital, digital and technical, or technical skills development.
